I want to get a really nice case for under $300 that will allow me to easily mount 2 120mm Fan Radiators and Shrouds etc.

I don't know what parts will be going in yet but probably Raid controller and some SATA Raptors, 64 bit etc...

All I have right now is 2 gigs of PC3200 C2 OCZ and an ATI9800 Pro that I might ditch.

I like Big Cases!

An easy case with precut holes would be the Gigabyte Aurora.

Other cases you might want to look at: CM Stacker, Lian-Li V1000, Lian-Li PC-75, Lian-Li PC-65 (a little small but you could fit it at the top), TT Armor. I think that gives you an idea..

Hmm those look kinda funny,

There was a case coming out that someone posted here a while back that was on of those upside down cases with places to put radiators on the bottom. BUt I can't remember who makes it, I think it was around $300 though...

aurora looks ok, however it seems to suffer from same problem I have now, MB goes behind the HD's forcing me to remove the Hard Drives, which forces me to remove the CPU Heatsink, just to install memory.

That and I don't care as much for snap in place drives.

Is there something similar to the Silverstone TJO7 only cheaper?

the CM Stacker 830 Looks promising also but a bit overkill on fans...I want a Really quiet case, I don't want a bunch of fans.

I want something sleek, easy to work on, looks good, and Easy to install liquid cooling without modifications.

(I know this is a case modding forum) I have modded the PISS out of my old case, spent Well over what a very fancy case would be cost, bondo paint, Cutting holes for mroe fans, Areo-Port Ducted and smoothed with bondo etc, but the case is just too old to mess with and I'm tired of it. I want something simple this time around. Thanks.

For water cooling, the best case that can easily fit 2x120 mm fans without cutting anything is the CM Stacker. The radiator fits perfectly ... problem is, when you install the radiator where the hard drives could go, you have limited space to install the hard drives. There's space for 3 hard drives and 1 optical drive.

The Thermaltake Tai-Chi has a version with pre-fitted watercooling which fits neatly inside the case, worth looking at...

I'm not gimpy enough to get that thermaltake case, it looks to be the first one I would even consider though.

the stacker is looking good so far, but I was thinking about eventualy running a raid 5 array in there, or at least picking up another 80 gig (4 of them) to finish off my IDE Raid-0 .

Would only 1 radiator be enough to keep a dual core and Video card cool? Even with a low output fan on it?

I'm sure there must be someone out there who has a setup like this...

Problem is I am limited in tools to only having a dremel, and although I had no problems with hacking my $20 case to shit, for around $200-300 I don't want to have to do anything.

i like the idea of the aerocool masstige ....

stacker like

small foot print

reverse atx/btx

120s front and rear

100bucks

fits a triple rad on top (mod needed obvoiusly)

my $.02

Yeah , the LL is nice, only problem is how do you fit a 2x120 mm in there without some sort of modification ?

that case is the stacker, i think a triple rad is a perfect fit in the bottom, and who cares about modding? it's no big deal.. not like the case wont work after you're done or anything.. :p

stacker is looking good I will have to look at some areo cool cases too, Thanks for all the links!

My Only Issue with stacker is that I doubt I can do a large raid array, with multiple CD Roms and Fan Controller...Currently I have all 5 of my 5.25 inch and my 3.5 inch spaces used...

I REALLY like the look of that 2000b, thats EXACTLZY what I'm looking for except it only has 1 120mm :( Is that 2 120's on that case though? on Opposite sides? Could I make that work?

I really wanted to do 2 120's so I can turn the fans down to 1/2 speed I want a nice quiet setup this time around

can someone show me the areocool with 2x120mm fans + water cooling installed?

All I have for modding is a dremel, and I can't see myself making perfect circle cuts with it for radiatior up top.

80mm fans on the side I guess I could jsut simply disconnect, but the 2000b looks much nicer from what I can see, and also fits a single 120mm radiator.

Basicaly I havent found any good options yet, the stacker does not really have the space I'm looking for after 2 120mm fans and radiators.

Perhaps I should just get a single 120mm size radiator rather than going for 2? Guess I'm used to seeing much larger radiators / heatercores like we used to see int he old days a few years ago...

So no1 really makes a case like I am looking for?

i can show you the aerocool in like a week when i get the rest of my parts. Right now i have a dual 120 rad up front and i have the option for another single 120 rad or dual 80 rad in the back. The 80 fans on the side do come off by the way.

that PC75 with tripple 120 upgrade is looking pretty damn good to me, But would I be better off getting the 2000B and doing the same thing?

Does seema bit out of date inside, but still very good.

They have some nice modded cases but dman $600 for drilling a few holes....I may was well buy a vapo chill for that much.

I like the idea of having the radiator up top, however I have not done any builds with any of these cases so I'm really relying on everyone else for advice.

Just out of curiosity how big is that mobo?!? I just got this case and thought I'd add in my 2 cents. I have a full atx, 2 optical drives and 2 IDE HDD's The only space issues worth mentioning on this case is the 2 120's in the bak leave little room for any mobo connection risers (DFI ULTRA-D audio riser). Thats a snug fit, but nothing im uncomfortable with. I have a good inch+ from the edge of the mobo and the HDD rack. The positioning of the HDD rack does make for ugly cable management if you have rounded IDE's (SATA can easily be ran over the top of the Hdd's behind the cage for a nice look).

This case is much bigger than the pic's give justice for. I would say I have a full 2 inches from the top of the mobo to the bottom rail of the PSU cage and for 130 bucks, it definately is worth looking into.

Again just my 2 cents.

EDIT: oh and the snap in drive rails I was a little iffy on too, but They work very very well and With the position of the HDD's sideways. They don't have anywhere to go even if they'd like to. The optical drive rails are a bit goofy as they only lock on one side of the drive. That one side is very secure but the other side of the drive gives just a hair with moderate pressure. Nothing that I'd judged the case on though. Over all its a very, very sturdy case.

It's not my MB it is the case I have now, although it is called ATX case, it has the width front to back identical to my old AT case.

Aurora, looks to be a good case but I don't like the drive cover. Also is the case solid aluminum or is it plastic?

I'm thinking to scratch of AeroCool Masstige, because their POS Card reader / Fan Controller just fried my last system which is part of the reason I need to build a new one.

what happend with the masstige?

Nothing but an Aero Cool Fan controller burned out partialy, but not enough to set off the alarm, which in turn appears to have killed my current CPU due to low fan speeds just high enough in the RPM's to NOT set off the damn alarm...

So if this is the kind of junk AeroCool makes I'll pass on their case. Plus I don't see how it has any advantages over the stacker? Or does it?
