Hye guys long time since i've posted, but stumbled onto another problem here it goes
i just upgraded to these specs
Asus A7N8X Athlon XP 2600+ 1024 DDR 400 and well now my games and internet lags badly, in DOD i spike so badly i can't play
i've tried both my old NIC card and my Built in LAN and none work and its really starting to piss me off, its not my network setup because my pc right beside this one(my other one) is fine on DOD and such. any ideas(yes i disabled the built in LAN when i loaded my NIC card)

did you reload your os after the upgrade?

which of the built in nic's did you try

the 3com requires more cpu resources then the nVidia

its not 3com its Nvidia thats what it says and i formatted my drive then reinstalled my OS after the upgrade

run memtest on it. how fast is your hdd? sounds like a bus problem. your currently using your onboard nic right? have you looked for updated drivers on the nvidia website?

Did you call your cable company? It could be just bad timing on your part. Although unlikely its still possible. Are pings outside of DOD ok? Try pinging the same servers outside of the game, if the ping is fooked then you know its its a network card issue, ingame it could be a driver conflicting thats causing your problem.
