recent install causing modem reset

So I installed a new ssd last night and threw a fresh install of windows 7 on it. today i have been trying to update bfbc2 to play it. upon trying to update the game i have found my cable modem is intermittenly resetting itself. i cannot updat bfbc2 and i cannot manually download the patch for the game as i lose internet connection before download is complete.

i've made sure the power settings do not allow for the lan to be shut down to save power....

what else could this be guys? thanks for your help.
 
i also made sure that firewall was shut completely off and firmware is updated.
 
Your modem isn't resetting due to your SSD or any computer settings, its most likely faulty cable wiring or possibly a modem that's flaking out.
