Received shuttle--vid card help

I just received an SG33G50 shuttle as a hand-me-down. I plan to get the cheap gskill for $45 (2gb ddr2 5-5-5-15) on newegg along with maybe an e7200.

For the videocard, is it possible this 250w psu on the shuttle will handle an 8800gt or 9600gt? Thanks in advance.
 
Yea it should but, its possible it won't or it will be close to overload when having the computer at full load.

If at all possible upgrade the PSU to a 300w model.
 
well i tried it out today with a pentium socket 775 and an x1900gt. The system boots perfectly without video card, but with it it won't even post. Any clues as to what i'm doing wrong? The video card works in my other system just fine. I'm afraid this shuttle may be defective :(



EDIT: Update-- I don't think it's a power issue. I just powered the system with an antec smart power 500w PSU and it still won't post. Could it be that the card is incompatible with this shuttle system?

Would a bios update have a chance at making this work?
