Received a free PC today.

This gem came out of an auto body shop. Manager claimed it was junk, and was about to toss it into a dumpster. I have no idea, but I would guess it's up to 12 years old.

It actually did boot up to desktop. I should just throw this away, but I think I'm going to try and plug in a hard drive from a system I had 10 years ago, just for fun.

I come across old systems like this all the time. If I know someone who needs a PC to check their email or Facebook, I'll set it up, but I usually end up recycling most of them.

Kinda likes like an In Win slim case.

I am always tempted to stuff an update into an old case, an APU or H61/H81 build, just to ..
Been saving an old Antec case I got new off ebay..

12 years would put it in late Pentium 3 to early P4 territory. This is more like 8 years old.

i do this at work, just gave my new I.T 2 old dual 603 socket Xeon boards with dual cpu's , 4Gig memory and a SCSI card and some 80 pin drives, i then have him an old dual core AMD board and cpu.. and lastly he just got our old Dell PE 2850 that was out odl PBX server for 4 years, dual 604 2.4Ghz Xeons 64bit with 8G of ram and 3 x 146G 15k SCSI drives.
