My P4 3.0@3.7 was fun but it was time to switch to the dark side. Sold my guts and bought new stuff. A64 OC thread, here I come :D

After 2 heart attacks and an emergency run to Home Depot, my rig is finally up and running.
Emergency 1: Didn't push my compression fittings in enough on the CPU block and when I kicked the pump on I watched a waterfall pour onto my brand new 6800GT. I had paper towels on top of it but so much water came out it just soaked them.. I jammed the fittings on better, dried the area with compressed air, had a beer, and fired it back up.. no leaks..phew!!

Emergency 2: The <sarcasm> INGENIOUS Engineers </sarcasm> that designed the pump for my system thought it would be funny to make it out of 2 halves, and join them with a simple O-Ring. More or less you can crack my pump like an egg. Well when I attempted to "burp" my system by tilting it, the pump came apart, spraying water all over my new 74 Gig Raptor and 300 Gig Diamondmax Drive.. KAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHN!!!!!! Time for Home Depot. Picked up some Gorilla glue and fused that bitch together. Let it sit for an hour while I drank a few more brews, and was now ready to fill her up again.

It's ALIVE!

I'm burning her in for 24 hours before I start OC-ing. So far she's been rock stable. I'll see how much I can crank her up later tonight.

yeah she does look nice!!! light that baby up man and get somthing glowing on the inside!! I have the same case that I am building but at the present time money is tight. If you have sometime PM me some of your journals of the build..

Again nice and clean..Good job

I'm taking out that USB bracket. I had to move it thanks to the only usable PCI slot for my Sound Card was at the bottom. Those cables bug the hell out of me. As for light... got em :D

You might find this Legris animation helpful. Push-fits have basically two points of resistance. Sounds like you were only in to the the grabber ring.

Nice rig! Especially like the LED readouts on your ram. They came out a few weeks after I got my XMS Pro ram so I was considering it, but decided that the LED readout would look more conservative.

That looks sweet man. I wish I would have went with white CC's as it seems like everyone has blue :( But I now have 2 blue CC's and 2 blue fans...so I guess I'm stuck with blue. But nice rig man.

Sorry about that! Having all these tabs open can get confusing some time. ;)

TN, for some reason you double posted.

I want to see a pic of the pump. Got one?

I think the Asetek kits come with Hydor L35 pumps, lightly modded to include a res on the intake.

It looks really busy and unorganized with the water cooling for some reason. I don't know, the tubes feel really out of place.

I totally agree. I had to move my GPU in the opposite direction so the tube could clear the heatsink on the mosfets. Thet threw me off BIGTIME. I think I'm going to take my GPU outlet tube and route it along the back wall of the case and then up and over. I hatethat it blocks the view of the RAM. That USB bracket is gone too. I can't stand the cable lying on top of my vid card like that, but it was the only spot. I'd rather sacrifice 2 USB slots than have that annoy me forever. Looks liek it's time for another drain and fill session :D

Thanks for the comments guys. I like crticism. It makes me work harder.

While I'm not a HUGE Asetek fan...it's a decent enough setup. The ram is too much bling for me, but the white lighting does look nice...everytime I see that done in a LiLi I smile. :)

Well after all of this I'm not a huge Asetek fan either Corn :D
It was my 1st delve into watercooling so I wanted to start with something eeasy, but not sooo prefabbed like and Exos or something. Next time it's going to be AquaDE stuff and smaller tubing. This 1/2" stuff is a bitch to work with.

If I can honestly find some cold/hard facts to tell me that I can safely move to 3/8" tubing without killing my temps I'll do it....cus it DOES look so much easier to route...but if done properly I still think 1/2" looks far cooler.

Just get some MCMaster or Tygon 7/16"id-5/8"od tubing, I'll be using that next time I redo my loop. I agree with Cathar after making a loop with 1/2"id-3/4"od Home Depot vinyl crap (at least it was only 6 bucks :p) that 1/2"id tubing is dead. Tubing with a 7/16"id still has all of the currently useable flow benefits of 1/2"id, and with a 5/8"od, it's as easy to route as 3/8"id, and won't kink except on extreme turns. Best of all, you can just slip it over 1/2" barbs without even having to heat up the end, and you get a nice solid fit that would probably be fine without hoseclamps, but it would be safer to just use them for extra piece of mind.

BTW, sweet rig, what OC did you get on your Venice, and at what temps?

can only get 2561 so far at 1.52 Vcore.. weird. I want higher!!!
Idle is 33, load 41. I added 2 90 degree bends to clean up the routing but I think it's hurting my flow a tad.

New routing:

nice!

how did you get the RAM to display? Is it a standard feature in the ram sticks?

Yes, Corsair XPERT Series PC3200
Newegg has them in stock.

yeah, those are really pretty memory modules, but how about you OC them a bit?

Good call....personally they're too flashy/blingbling for me....but they're still "different"..... ;)

hehe that screenshot was after I had done the plumbing.
RAM is currently at 254 MHz, 2.8 volts

2.5-3-3-7-1T for now. Loosened them up a ton to get my FSB max figured out (ended up with 265). Haven't tried tightening them up since I just ordered new tubing and am considering going X2 instead. Those 90 degree joints I used to clean up the view have REALLY disrupted my flow, and after the "best way to setup a loop" post, I need to reroute my setup anyway. Should look even cleaner, and flow better. I'm all about BOTH.

As I posted in the other thread, if you can get me some "lights on" pics of the interior from different angles (one looking up towards the top of the interior of the case, one straight on the side panel, and looking forwards towards the front interior) I'll get your tubing routed a fair bit nicer for ya.

I'll be sure to do that for ya tonight. Just got my stuff from FrozenCPU today (hehe only took one day and paid for 3 day) I love those guys! :D

I swear I'll order from them eventually.....it's over the border for me, so it's a bit of a deterent...but I do like their service from what I've seen.
