Rebuilding a RAID1

I have a RAID1 setup in my PC, the Raid controller is on the mobo.

I recently updated the bios on my mobo and everything was great until I noticed I now had 2 hdds under XP.

The bios upgrade had disabled the RAID so now XP sees both drives with identical data (c: and e:)

I want to rebuild the RAID but I have been using the system for a month now and don't want to lose any data from C: i just want the controller to mirror the contents of that drive to the 2nd drive.

I did not set up the RAID in the first place so I'm unsure what options I will get when I go into the RAID menu of the bios.

Any tips or thoughts?

Thanks.

Phil

Knowing the mobo and RAID controller helps, but you should probably have to reenable the RAID controller in the BIOS and possibly select which SATA(?) ports will be part of this RAID. Once set and saved, a reboot should then bring up a prompt to enter the RAID BIOS and within there you should be able to select what type of RAID you want and the option to migrate one drive to the other when RAID1 is selected.

Sorry, my machine is Shuttle SD37P2.

I'll give it a go later.

I was hoping that it would give me the choice of which drive to be "master".

Thanks.

Phil
