So I have an Adaptec 6405 and one of my drives (2x 3TB) has gone bad in a RAID 1.

As I wait for the RMA got a new questions.

When the raid went bad I went in to the adaptec bios but it couldn't see either drive.

Is that a bad sign? I've got the good drive hooked up to the onboard SATA to copy some vital files over while I wait.

Also, does it matter what SATA cable is plugged into the drive? Since they all come out of the same 4x SATA cable I'm guessing it doesn't matter but my experience with rebuilding RAIDs is limited.
