Reboot roundabout hmmm

I built this comp awhile ago had no issuse with it what so ever till few weeks ago when things started to go down hill. It is :

....2.4c
....1 raptor (was raided but then had problems with raid bios after a HDwipe so just use one now cuz to lazy to raid)
....550 antec truepower
....6 80mm 10krpm fans (now unhooked to see if it was a psu load problem, doesnt seem to be the case)
....radeon 9800 128
....512 twinstick corsair...forget type heh
....Abit ic7-G mobo

What is happening is this. I boot the comuter, it reaches the black windows boot screen (sometimes the blue windows login screen) then the screen goes blank and it reboots itself. Now, this happend few days ago after installing SP2... so i did HD wipe ect then didnt install SP2... worked for a few days ... would some times reboot on startup of an application but not offten... then today it started to reboot when trying to run EQ every time... then i unpluged and repluged the HD and it started the reboot cycle... cant even get into windows... i rewired the HD tryed all the power cables, un did the fans to reduce PSU load, updated and reset bios/cmos... cleaned the HD took the HD fan off itand still no luck. I am at a loss as to weither this is Hardware or a virius or what but its getting frustrating and i dun wanna have to wipe HD everytime it happens heh. so any advice ideas commiseration ;p are welcome

anyway...got a regular hdd to test it with? or if you can boot into windows is auto restart disabled? could be blue screening..

how you disable auto restart? i HAVE a regular HD to test it with... but its a backup HD with lotta files on it... would rather not wipe it unless its a last resort ;p i will look around might have an old salvaged on somewere... or maby ill steal the HD outa my roomates comp mUhaha ;p hehe

Disabling it enables you to read the Blue screen and possibly find out whats causing the error. To disable it go to Start, Control Panel, System, Click on the Advanced tab, and then click on Startup and Recovery Settings. Under the System Failure section of the window is a box called automatic restart. Uncheck it and you're gold.

First run Memtest86 to check for memory errors.

Can you get into Safe Mode.
Press F8 as the computer posts.
This should get you into the screen with all the boot options.
Try Safe Mode.
That should load Windozes with the minimal drivers needed.
If it works then it could well be a driver problem causeing it to reboot.

can i run that memtest without being able to get into windows? i cant get in at all safemode ornot

memtest isn't run in safe mode...it's run off a boot disk so you don't need windows, much less a hard drive really

Or you could run it frpm a bootable CD.
Look up the http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/
They have a lot of drive tools, memory tests, etc which you can put onto one CD.

man that boot disk stuff is a big deal you gotta like make it lol... here is a blue screen error ............

havent been able to find to much info on this error anyone know?

ok, lil update. i have been playingwith the options under f8 and when i do debug mode instead of rebooting at windows loging it hangs... that mean anything?

question, back when i first made comp this guy said ram speed settings had to be a certain thing or you get error when installing windows (dun remeber if it was cuz of chipset or cpuspd or what)... they had to be certaint clock or put ram at 2.7+ volts... i have been runninga at 2.8 volts for a year now cuz i forgot the clock speed, anyone remember the clock speed or think this would be relivent?

ok i got a regular non sata hd and hooked it up to comp that i KNOW works cuz im posting off it right now... and it wouldnt boot, so im thinking bio/drivers...
