New build for someone. Was working last time I shut it down. Loaded it in the car and drove it over (3 hour drive) started it up and now it comes to screen where you pick safe mode, last good, normal, etc. No matter what you pick it reboots to same screen. Basically all i did was take out battery and made sure all connections were snug. Nothing. I really need some help.

Antec case /w 350 watt
P4 2.8C
Intel 865Pe motherboard
1gig (2x512) OCZ Premier
Western Digital 120JD
Matrox G550
 
Maybe something built up a static charge and was zapped. 3 hours is quite a long drive.

going on that theory, I'd pull half of the RAM and try it. If it does it again, pull the other half and try again.


edit: also, run memtest x86, that can diagnose RAM problems. I can't think of any other diagnostics you can put on a boot disk (and bypass windows) but maybe some other people know of some.
