So I went to a small lake and played with my Digital Rebel XT on Saturday. Constructive criticism is welcome. The picture was resized in Paint Shop Pro, no other editing was done. The original pic is HERE (Caution 1.75 megs !) Aperture = F/5.6, Focal Length = 200mm, Shutter Speed = 1/800th and ISO = 100.

Just a small thing I noticed. If you look to the bottom, you can see some reed/weed things, I think it would be best to crop that bottom part out. Research about the rule of thirds, your subject does not always need to be right dead center. Since it seems a little 'bland', if there was a decent background beyond this water body it might have been nice to get more level with the subjects as to provide the horizon. Just some stuff I can think of. You have a nice picture though, keep up the good work. ;)

Also lookin again your white balance seems to be a little off, here's what I was trying to say up there lol.

Thanks for the advice Emberghost. Eventually I'll figure out all the "bells and whistles" on this camera. I tried to avoid getting the shoreline on the other side of the lake because there were too many people there.
