Reasonable temps for 2500+ M

Hi I hve been running my Mobile 2500+ at 2.4Ghz without a problem. I was using an old Thermaltake Volcanoe 9 as the heatsink, and just today purchased a CoolerMaster Aquagate H2O system. I can bring the temps lower than they were before while using the maximum fan speed, but that is way to noisy. If I lower the fan speeds to the lowest settings the temp according to MBM is 57C after a good hour of running prime torture test.

My main question is what is to high for my CPU, and what is a prime temp? How high do experienced o/c'ers let it get. I really purchased this system to bring the noise levels of my machine down. Unless I use settings 1 or 2 it's not quieter, and even setting 2 is barely quieter.

So if anyone with experience overclocking these mobiles could give me info it'd be great.

Thanks in advanced.

i try not to let my barton go over 60c.

optimal temp would be as low as you can get it, but if you need to sacrifice some temp for a quieter rig.. then just turn it up when you need it (ie, playing games, crank the fan, but turn it down when you're just browsing and stuff)

My 2400 mobile 45w @2.25Ghz never gets over 50C. 50C is my prefered max temp limit. And I run United Devieces 24/7

Mobile Barton 2600+ at rated speed (2.6) 1.9V. 48C under load.
Breaks at 55C.

xp 2400m 35W @ 2.5ghz 1.775V 39C idle 57C full load on a zalman 7000b-cu can't figure out why the temps are getting higher. temps in sig are when I installed the zalman

eh.. it's kinda hard for the actual heatsink mount to get worse unless he's been bumping the case around pretty severely or bumped the heatsink with his hand.

Found out it was a serious case of the dust bunnies combined with a 120F room temp

seriously. do you have any idea how many people with pre-built computers have 'problems', mainly with stability, and go out and buy a new computer to fix it when all they had to do was open the case and give it a good cleaning?

:D
edit: qb4ever, this isn't aimed at you in any way, just a general statement that disturbs me.

yup, i can vouch for dust killing everything. my old p2 and monster dust bunnies stopped the cpu fan. it kept locking up and was super slow. i got bored and opened it up and dust EVERYWHERE! it was insane.

my friend accidentilly killed his gf4-ti4600.. and he's quite knowledged about computers. he was just too lazy to clean it i guess.

DUST. don't let it happen to you.

an adaptation of anti-drugs. hehe

that's why I prefer passive heatsinks.

i clean my gpu, nb, and case fans once a month or so...used to, whenever my cpu would get 2-3C hotter than usual, i would clean everything, but now that i have water i've been forgetting to clean as often...oops

when i was first gonna build a rig, my friend said to clean everything once a month, like take eveyrthing out. i got lazy and never did it. now im gonna hafta get a HUGE fan and force the dust out. ugg, this will be exciting
