I overclocked my 6300/DS3/Freezer Pro7 mobo to 3GHz at default voltage. From EasyTune5 reading, the system temp is 42c/44c (idle/load), and the CPU temp is 44c/59c (idle/load) with Orthos running for 3 hours. Core Temp reading was much higher, 64c load, which is scary.
I used AC5 instruction to apply a small dot of rice size in the middle of the cpu heat spreader.

Are those temps are too high? should I reapply the AC5 to the CPU?
I got Gigabyte DS3 board. should I apply AC5 to NB also?

thanks

Temps not too high, about what I would expect. if coretemp got above 75 I would chicken out and back off.
I would not reapply the AS5.
I would apply AS5 to the northbridge and replace the push pins with 4-40 hardware with nut, lockwaser, and a screw with a fibre or nylon washer under the screwhead on the back of the board.

nice OC with stock volts btw, :)

I put a small 40mm fan on the NB and lower its temp by 5degree c. I used slot fan to blow both GPU and SB, which are cool to touch.

Can you explain more detail what these mean? can you post any pictures? where can I get them? and what are they for?

Its just standard screws and nuts you can buy from a hardware store or something. 4-40 is a specific diameter and thread pitch that will probably fit through the existing holes. All you need are some bolts with some nylon washers, and some nuts and lockwashers (washers that have a cut in them and are bent so they almost make a spiral.) Those will provide a much more secure hold to the motherboard as long as they're not overtightened

yep what jpgr said, the plastic pushpins on the NB dont really clamp it too well to the motherboard. nut bolt washer does much better (tighen evenly and just smartly snug)
