here at work, we're currently using realvnc enterprise across the globe for remote administration of windows xp machines.

with one machine we've found that all of our admins can connect to it but one. she's a domain administrator and has full rights to the computer otherwise. whenever she tries to connect we're getting the following message...

'SConnection: AuthFailureException: Either the username was not recognised, or the password was incorrect'

this error is also written into the system application log as a software error. upon searching google and other forums, i'm stumped.

any ideas?

Check the properties of the account in AD and make sure it's configured correctly.

good suggestion; it's a copy of the same rights the rest of the admins have.

the thing that gets me is that the user account can login into every vnc session we tried (more than 25 pc's tried), except for this one pc.

Use Security Configuration and Analysis to compare the security policy of a working machine to the one that doesn't work. The User Rights Assignments might be messed up. Also check that group membership of the local groups is correct.
