Was using realtemp and HWmonitor which were giving 2 different readings at the same time. Everyone said to just stick with realtemp, which I have been.

One thing I notice about realtemp is the temperature jumps alot from say, 48 up to 56 then back down in a matter of seconds.. surely this is not the case..

Is realtemp that reliable if its real time readings are a little of whack?..

I think the jumps is when the cpu utilization spikes for a second. As for the programs, I use Realtemp but i've always read that the real number you need to look at is distance to TJ Max, which is how many more degree's until you reach your CPU thermal limit. It's funny but both Speedfan and Realtemp should display the identical 'Amount to TJ Max' number, even though the temp they display is different.
