Ive had my modem+router running wired to my gaming pc. Switched out front to the HTPC/TV/Dish etc. everything was running great before the switch

Htpc
h55n-usb3 | i3 530 | win7 pro x64 no Service pack
gaming rig
dfi-mi-t36 | i5 760 | win7 pro x64 no service pack

I can not get the damn realtek wifi adapter to work
Its an airlink awll6077v2 usb2.0 adapter

on my gaming rig
Disabled Gigabite ethernet and HDA (just incase the realtek drivers on that were interfering)
Downloaded the latest drivers from the site
Downloaded the actual realtek driver RTL1892SU
Copied the working drivers from my htpc to my gaming rig

Tried to install (device manager driver browse manual install)
Tried to install via setup
Tried multiple times and there were problem(s)

Install would hang and id have to cold reboot
Could not locate driver
install would finish but computer would hang and not restart until I pulled the adapter
somehow coaxed the install to finish and when I click on the wifi tray bar after around 30 secs the networks pop up, another 30 secs to proceed to each step and when finally attemping to connect gives me the cannot connect dialogue

trying anything with the adapter freezes my whole pc intermittently. I whether everything just freezes or takes forever to respond, to application crashes, to explorer crash.
Also any attempt at messing with the driver or opening network connections etc. results in freezing the bottom right tray icons (even for unrelated devices)

and the bitch is I can plug it back in my htpc and it auto connects right away and runs like a champ!
