After finishing the build in my signature, I never bothered to install the RealTek audio drivers that came with motherboard. So my question is is it safe to install these drivers (or updated version) now. Do I need to uninstall Nvidia drivers? What benefit is there to bothering with it anyway? Codec compatability maybe?

No answer? Basically I just want to know if I have to unintall anything such as the Win7 default HD audio drivers, or the Nvidia drivers that I think were installed with Nvidia.
 
you should install the drivers to the cards that are active.
you dont need to uninstall anything.
 
Thanks, I wouldn't even bother because my audio sounds just fine with default drivers, except some divx hd videos don't have any sound
 
You can use VLC Media player.

1) It's free
2) It's decodes just about anything.
3) It uses no external codecs as it has its own built in.
 
If you install the Realtek drivers you'll just get more control over what your card does. They are not necessary, but will not hurt anything.
