realplayer lockups. Can't end task

I have a very anoying problem with realplayer sometimes it will stop working when i try to launch a song then it bogs the computer down for around 6 min. it refuses to quit task manager can't close it. If i log off and go into any account including mine it will be there. the only way to get rid of it is to restart and there have been times when that didn't work :confused: and i have already tried redownloading and installing it
any ideas?
