I have this same problem on 2 computers I have built. Both using different cpu's and motherboard manufacturers but the chipset is the same intel 915.

What happens is that when I first turn on the computer it gives me a blank screen untill I hit the reset button, then it gives me your normal startup screen with the bios checking ram hd's etc... After it does that it tells me that "warning, cpu has been changed" press f1 to continue. After pressing F1 it goes along like normal. The only thing that is changed is the time. So I have to then reset the computer and go into the bios to change the date/time.

Any idea what would cause this on 2 different pc's, both fairly new?

Sounds like youve either got the CMOS jumper in teh reset position, or the backup battery is dead.
