really quick C2D question re: e6600 vs. e6750...

E6600 is EOL and Newegg (amongst many other stores) isn't dropping the price on it, simple as that.

It's a generation behind now and the E6750 is better/faster/cooler..E6600's have been replaced. Plus, I don't believe the older chips were on Intel's list of chips to cut prices on.

No doubt, but who in their right mind, is gonna go after that now. When the 6750's are pretty much guaranteed screamers, and cheaper to boot.

I thought the same thing, too, since it has a lower stock FSB. However, Intel did a great job with the G0 stepping. The E6750 is newer, therefore the manufacturing process is much more refined than when E6600's were good OC'ers. Recent batches of the E6600 were poor overclockers, probably because intel kept the good silicon for the Q6600's (which is basically two E6600's on one die). The E6600 could reach around 3.6Ghz, while the E6750 can reach around 4Ghz.

Why are E6750 about the same price as Q6600's?

I really think I'd go Q

They're not. They're around $100 less. The E6850 is around the same price as the Q6600. Why? probably for OEM system integrators, who sell millions of these chips.

Probably not gonna be too much higher, unless your limited by high temps. What are you cooling your proc with now and what temps are you achieving at 3.2?

With more voltage? Most likely around 3.6Ghz, like all the other E6700/E6600's.

On the same voltage? Like azuldenial said, it depends on your current temps.
