My dad is goingto buy me a new monitor. I have the choice between getting a Dell 2407/05 (IDK yet they d00d hasn't gotten back to me). Or a brand new covered under warranty TN panel 1900x1200. I really don't want the Dell because I am afraid it may die on me and I will be out of a 200$ monitor.

The Dell 2407 with its MVA/PVA panel will have a lot better picture quality than a TN type display. If you can get it for $200 that is a real bargain. I sold mine on here for around $400.

Keep in mind that there is also the 2407WFP-HC model which is the newer version.
Higher color gamut which to some people can be a curse. Is he willing to give it to you for $200?

Yes. I love the monitor. No warranty just scares me. DO you know anyone that had this monitor die on them?

No havent heard of that happening not to say it couldnt happen with any monitor.

Well, if the monitor is 1 and half year old, it still should be covered by the original warranty. At least in the EU, I don't know about the situation in the USA. But the guy can provide you with his original papers, so you could RMA the monitor if the need arises, or not?
If you want something brand new, consider also Dell 2209WA.
Actually I'm not familiar with neither 2407 or 2405, but I admit I don't like *VA monitors. I'm a spolied H-IPS person :)
