really good air cooling solution??

everyone is talking about the arctic silencer 5 for the 6800 line up and i was wondering if there is a better cooler out there that performs better. i dont care about noise(i have headphones for that). i just want an air cooling solution that will keep my card pretty cool and stable even with overclocking. thnx for any info :D
 
You could always take a standard aluminum CPU cooler, bring it to a metal shop and cut it up so it fits and mounts on your video card. If only "ViperJohn" modified Nvidia cards as well, o well.

the most id want to spend on a cooler would be around $60. i might go higher if i can get a higher clock on my card but keep it at a nice temperature. was also wondering about those PCI cards that have fans on them. do they do any good with cooling the videocard?
 
If you are willing to spend that much, why didn't you just get the ultra?

Good point. The Ultra will also have a better cooling solution than the GT also. So going past Ultra speeds shouldn't be an issue.
 
you are probably right on that one. ill have to say some money in order to do the stepup program with aVGA :D thnx for the thoughts guys
 
so if i did the stepup program would evga look at how much i paid for it or go with their current price they are selling it for at this date? cuz i would have to send the card in and have the difference paid for before they send me a new card. im gonna do this woohoo! awesome :D

Yeah, I had my Radeon 9500 set in to him, he overclocked it to speeds of 425/339. Then I sold it to someone, but buyer was an idiot and he fried it, argh!!
