Do you just plug this card in and away you go? does it hook up to your existing video card(s)? does it work in SLI systems? Is this card worth getting yet?

You plug it in a free PCI slot, hook a free molex from the PSU to it and you are good to go I think.


As for it being worth getting yet, IMO, I don't think so. Not until better games come out (which doesn't look like its going to happen any time soon to be honest)

No, you have to install the drivers, otherwise, yes :), with any compatible games (which are few at this point, City of Heroes/Villains, CellFactor demo, GRAW, Rise of Nations Rise of Legends coming out this week).

No, it is a seperate add-in board that uses a normal PCI slot on its own.

Of course, so long as you have an open PCI slot you can use :).


Is this card worth getting yet?

Even I, a staunch supporter of PPU's, am not buying one just yet... maybe in about a month or month and a half once the initial price-gouging dies down and a few more titles come out that interest me with support for it are here (which will happen within that timeframe), then I will buy it. Opinion varies, of course.

Y'see here, thats the problem. Free PCI-slots are non-existant in my rig. I either toss my wifi card, or my other NIC... :(
 
Well maybe by the time they release a good game with ppu support it will be integrated onto the video cards ;)
 
So you want to buy a new $200 PPU chip every time you upgrade your video card? You're already saying as one of your chief complaints that video cards are too expensive already, why would you want to pay over and over for the same PPU?
