Really annoying problem.....

Hi.

It happens in winamp, windows media player, foobar etc....when I play a song it plays normally but then I get this hiccup. Like an interruption for less than a second....don't really know how to describe it. Like lag in a game. Its really annoying. I don't know whats causing this problem. Would defragging my HDD help?

how often does it happen during a song? have you checked your cpu usage during playback? checked your running processes?

About three or four times in a 3.5min song....

Does it happen at the same points in song?

It happens randomly. It never had this problem before

CPU usage ~30% - 60%

system idle process 85%
firefox ~5%
explorer 2%
winamp 4%

and some others....
