Real hardware raid?

So my roommate started to build a file server but software raid sucks the big one for support on Linux (not the first time either I guess). Anyways, I'm looking for a 4-8 port real hardware raid controller, works on PCI 32bit 33mhz (standard PCI), and has linux support. Cheaper the better, do the highpoints show up as a single array on linux and work on standard PCI?
