i have a 4gb sandisk cruzer as a readyboost drive and forever everytime i plug in a usb device such as camera, phone, ipod i would get a dialog box saying windows media player has crashed. it would also crash if i tried to open the program or use media center. well the other day i took out the readyboost thumbdrive to use it as a linux boot for my eee...well guess what windows media player and media center work fine when readyboost is turned off. any reason why this happens. should i even bother with readyboost?...i never use wmp but i wouldnt mind getting a tv tuner card to use with media center.

I have no idea why that problem is happening, but I can tell you that Readyboost is basically completely useless if you have 2GB of RAM or more. Since you've got 4GB, I would just stop using it altogether if I were you.

its pretty useless. for machines with low physical memory and/or low disc space only. its especially useless if it makes one of your apps crash al the time.
