I already know having a 12x 3TB Raid 5 array was a dumb idea. The important data is backed up, so i'm not super worried, but no one wants to loose 5TB of data. (Raid 6 and Hot Spares will be the choice if I have to rebuild)
One drive (#17) failed a few days ago. I got a couple new ones, popped one in and it started rebuilding. It's sitting at 51.4% on the rebuild and constantly throwing "#23 Reading Error". I'm assuming this drive died during the rebuild. (I have a new spare, good thing I picked up 2)
All the data is still in tact and I can access it. However, it's super slow and intermittent.
I'm assuming my only options are to break the array, lose the data and rebuild?
Any other options?
What does one do at this point? There isn't a "stop rebuild" button or anything.
EDIT: Areca 1280 is the card.
