it looks different, thats about it. no watercooling or nothing, just for looks so far.

Ok so im confused. You want us to evaluate it but all I can see you have done is add lights and a circle to the side panel? Am I missing something here, Im not trying to be rude or anything but it just looks like you added some lights to it and called it a mod?

Is there some sort of story behind the circle thing? Does it spin on its own or something?

Noice. I like that circle design!

Good old Antec cases :D.

Maybe he's developed a cold fusion power source for overclocking... that would explain the Reactor name. Otherwise it's a pretty simple mod... looks nice, but not really a "critique" worthy mod. All you'll get is "that's it?" or "nice mod" as responses.

PS. Welcome to [H]! We're all spoiled by people with too much time and money on their hands showing off their 1337 rigs. lol

Wow, some people sure like to run their mouths before remembering that everyone starts somewhere.

Nice glow and side backlighting, I would have tried to do something to hide the tri-LED in the front..

ok well my bad i should have posted the full story. the aim for this mod is to have a stylish case with green light that looked as factory made as possible (so as you can imagine i could afford no mistakes or scratches). what i have done so far is a sidepanel "window" (although you cant see through it, it only glows) with frosted plexi. i later decided to take another piece of metal and raft a ring-style design that would glow. so far so good, i also went ahead and made a front door hole with mesh behind it. IMO its completley smooth and it was done by hand via dremel and a LOT of sanding. i also lit up the whole front door via a green laser led. a custom switch to control the light was also installed in the 3.5" bay. that is all i ahve done for now but focused mostly on perfection. i hope that clarifies things a bit better :) also take it easy on me its my first full case mod. more to come, ill post pics when im done!

PS: before i forget, i would also like to say that it was hard working with this case because my only pc at the moment is inside, so i couldent take it all apart, etc

i will once i finish modding its inside :)

EDIT: as an update, i made a fitting logo for the door hole as well :)

i got a piece of frosted plexi, and made the usual design on it :). it was placed right behind the door mesh, take a look for yourself. looks a lot better IMO:

AH, Ok now it makes sense. You were going for kinda the "sleeper" look. Very cool. Definitely like the contrast of the green with the black case. Where did you get the circle emblem?

yep, thats exactly what im going for. i am putting ALL my attention in the details, i want it to look factory made instead of modded. this does not mean though, that its gonna be easier than a "conventional" mod :)

edit: i almost forgot to include this, but since i cut teh sidepanel hole via hole saw, i had the circular piece that used to be there (and was cut out) left over in my scrap pile. i got my dremel and files, smoothed it out, and glued it to the window.

An idea to stealth those front leds for the little circle in the door would be to maybe route some LEDs to the acrylic and actually mod them into the acrylic. This might be a little harder than what you are going for but definitely an idea. Only reason I mention it is that you are trying to "stealth" as many of the mods as possible yet you have that huge LED light sticking straight out on the very top bay.

Definitely a cool looking mod though.

To me MOD means any change from the stock OEM case, whether it be adding a light(s), extra fans or full blown rework of the case so you cant tell what it was in the first place.

Someone please enlighten me if that is incorrect!

^^ actually it was my fauly i should have explained it more. and gregnash, i will defenetly work on stealthing the laser led... including the leds in the plexi is doable... i will do it. thanks for th idea.

Racebanner you are completely correct. In my original post I was unsure of what he was trying to accomplish.

It's a nice mod, I like it. But with your skills (very nice cuts and attention to detail) it seems you should be doing more with it

Maybe another mod in the future?

looks great :D i love the minimalistic approach to it.. awesome job so far :D

thanks for the input guys! wow [H] is quickly going near the top of my fav forum book next to OCC :)

ok now for an UPDATE!!

ok people, update time. i worked on the front panel some more, making only the rign emblem glow behind the aluminum mesh. i think it looks awesome this way. i took some plexi and glued it behind the door hole. i then took masking tape and taped off the ring emblem. afterwards it was painted black, but the plexi was still clear over the design where the masking tape off. i took a pocketknife and etched away at the logo making it deeper. then the green laser led (notice its sleeved now :D) was attached. thats it for tonight!

ive had some requests to see the inside of the rig, here it is! i hope you linke the wiring job :):

I really like the logo. It's so hard to create a simple and effective logo like that. Nice work.

I think I REALLY like this concept. We went the other extreme already making cases that couldn't look like a computer with the Batman Begins wall hanger and the Doom Mars City...maybe this is the start of the "mod it to look stock" trend.

That sounds kinda silly when I read it but I really love the concept. Let's improve on what companies are doing by taking their cases and improving them without making them LOOK modded. I'm probably going to get flamed for this but oh well I like this idea a LOT!

its what im aiming for.. that, and CLEAN :p it would be nice to start a trend hehe, it would be like the famous "glowpad". lol, i can only dream.

thats some nice work there, i love the color scheme. im not a big fan of anime, but other than that i love it!

/me gets hellish indignant

Anime my aching ass!!! That's not anime that's by god bloody Batman!!!

Actually Batman Beyond from the WB. I suppose it has its similarities with anime but I'm a wee bit saddened that all my work has come down to being mistaken for anime related even with the blatent big ass bat window in the side... :(

The colors worked themselves out actually with very little help from me. In fact much of the construction of that case is NOTHING like the initial concept or plans I had in mind. The radiator is not only not on the top panel of the case but it's not even mounted INSIDE the case like I had imagined. Scuse the wiring and junkiness of things...I'm out of dough and am waiting to order the remaining parts before I finish everything.

lol i NOTICED the batman theme, but i was reffering to the chick character on the front that is similar to an anime style or drawing XD. also, im very sad right now because my laser led burned out. that teaches me well to put them on a switch next time......... :(:(:(:(

Heh...the fem is a character from the show named Melanie Walker. She is the youngest member of the Royal Flush Gang and her alter ego is named TEN. I wanted a nice etch that was long and thin for the window and happened across that picture and thought it would look good. I still think it looks good but I had never seen it as an anime reference because I knew her in the right correlation :D Glad you like it though...

aaah, i understand now. the etching job is excellent and clean. i am VERY pissed about the green laser led dillema that was used to light up the front of my case mods. i have 1 green LED remaining from the 3 that isnt burned out, so im gonna install it on the 5v line, with a resistor, and add a switch. that should solve it, but im going to sleep tight now i have a lot of things to take care of tomorrow including school... :(... i better go and forget about what happened before i go nuts :(

... would anyone be kind enough to donate a green laser LED to me since i am broke and have no more money?

Exactly, I'd like people to say "Hey that's a great looking case, where can I buy one?" and you get to reply with "You can't, I made it myself."

update: i fixed the laser led problem, even though its running on 1 LED i still got it to be as bright as it was before. ok here is what i did. i put the LED on the 5v line with some resistors, and a switch. i made the etch in the plexi deeper as well. the only bad thing is that the back now looks ugly, so i will clean that up later today. pics:
