I found that Optimizer XP works good for both AMD and INTEL CPU's just download it, install it, run it, choose your Internet connection speed and then do a restore shield setting choose your CPU type it will reboot your machine, then run it again, you can choose between a safe optimization and a performance optimization then choose your CPU type and go.

I used a performance optimization on an old Hewlett Packard Vectra VL SERIES 4 5/166 Pentium I 166Mhz. CPU with a FSB of 60Mhz. runnig Win2k and the CPU clocked out at 262Mhz. with a FSB of 75Mhz.

Best of all this is free overclocking software.
 
The post before this is in regards to the fact that I messed up by making the font to large and I corrected it and I didn't say anything in my last post other than Oops sorry in my defense it was early I was falling asleep in my chair, however this program is real and does work here is the link from googling Optimizer XP v3.51.

I have used this on my computer and haven't had any problems as of yet I originally got the program from MajorGeeks.com and so far every bit of free software I have got there has all been good with no real problems sense I first learned about them from a friend in school and while I was still in school that is when TECHTV talked about the on the air. :cool: :cool: :cool:

I have to agree.. I dont see any advantage to a CPU overclocking program for windows.. GPU maybe, but you can just edit CPU speeds in BIOS easy...

because pc's like compaqs HPs and dell generally can't be overclocked from the bios because their locked
they do this because their main buyers are large business's who don't want their employes pissing round with their hardware meaning that they have to get new ones if it went wrong
 
Here is a little something for those who have laptops with mobil processors.

I suggest that you try SpeedswitchXP V1.4 this is freeware at Majoregeeks in their processor section I use it on my HP Pavilion zt3280us centrino laptop the settings can be changed any time you want to change them.
