Re-setting USB tree in Device Manager

Hi,not sure If thats the right name for this..

I was advised once by somebody once on how I could re-set my USB tree in Device Mangaer then reinstall everything afresh.

I'm having problems with a USB device and would like to narrow it down plz.

If this makes sense to anybody..the knowhow would be greatly appreiciated ;)
