I got my hands on a Asus Vivobook S 16 with the HX 370 WITHOUT a dedicated GPU because I wanted to test the 890m. The specs sheet tell a story of an iGPU intentionally limited by memory bandwidth. 118gb/s is what GPUz reports and even though the pixel/s and textures/s are better than bottom end RTX 3050 the ram bandwidth is less than half what that gpu offers. Even with that limitation what this GPU can do with almost no power and in a thin profile is impressive!

I did replace thermal paste on the cpu with thermal grizzle kryosheet and put the laptop on what has to be the most insane laptop cooler I could find. Even though officially the GPU is limited to 54watts TDP you can see in steel nomad light stress test at maximum fan speed(which is how you control power limitations on the vivobook) that we are at 58watts. Sadly the extra wattage slowed it down and going to standard fan mode actually netted better performance at 54watts. If there was more space on this thin+light laptop it would have kept the HX370&890M much cooler resulting in some shocking performance I think.

That looks a lot like Lenovo kit... though those might be OEM parts used by multiple vendors.

You tested your Asus Vivobook S 16 with the HX 370 well! Even with the 54W TDP limitation, the iGPU is performing quite well for such a thin laptop. Your decision to replace the thermal paste with Kryosheet and use a high-powered cooler helped boost performance a bit, although 58W does cause some trotting. Most likely due to limited case space, the laptop can't handle the extra heat. If there was more room for cooling, you could get even more impressive results from this iGPU.

I actually got better performance with the IGP limited to 54w. The extra 5 watts is just too much for the cooling to handle but if I was just crazy enough I could probably create a custom water loop to cool this and the ram chips to really test the limits of this iGPU.

Given that the new gen of amd "extreme" cpu's for handhelds are going to be roughly similar, I'd be extremely curious to know what you'd be able to squeeze from the other direction. Say, a 5W power envelope with some heavy undervolting.

And here I just got a laptop with an 8845HS and 780m igpu....

Then I stepped on it by accident and broke the screen a couple months ago....

How do you like Kryosheet? I think I am going to pick some up and "re-paste" my 7900 XT Hellhound when it arrives...

PTM 7950 seems hard to procure at a reputable place. Kryosheet is at the Micro Center right down the street...
