I just got done fighting with Razer about an RMA on my Razer Orochi. One of the side buttons doesn't work, it clicks but doesnt register and I need to press all 4 of the side buttons at the same time to enable the bluetooth pairing mode. And after about 20 emails back and forth, they tell me that if i dont have a proof of purchase or a serial number that I am not eligible for RMA.
1. It has a 2 year warranty.
2. The mouse hasn't even been out 2 years so it should automatically be eligible for warranty proof of purchase or not.
3. I have no serial number because Razer was smart enough to put it on the battery pull tab that eventually broke off because of use when taking the batteries out. (plastic paper tab)
I'm told that it's because they need proof it's an authentic product, because appearantly they have a problem with people making knock-offs.
I told them that I would ship it to them at my cost so they could see on the inside it was authentic, but that was to no avail.
That is THE LAST Razer product that I ever buy. I didn't even go into the problems I've had with their Lycosa keyboard and the Carcharias headphones. Call it bad luck if you must, but they have a serious QC problem. Either that or they just make gaudy, half-ass products that break very easily.
TL;DR:
Do not buy razer products.
had the same problem with my razer deathadder, after 30 mails and NOTE they did 1 reply per 24 hours, i managed to rma with my shipping costs ofc.. they gave me a hard time which is why i am not buying again from them, the mouse had all paperwork and serials in my case howeverI just got done fighting with Razer about an RMA on my Razer Orochi.
