Thought I would post something interesting here and see if anyone is interested in following it up.
I was opening my orochi the other day to solder in a USB battering charging module for when the USB cable is plugged in and when im using rechargable batteries. Im also intending to change the lights in the mouse.
One thing that is curious though is the solder points and connectors to the lights.
The main center light on the orochi has a 4 point solder connector on it - usually used with RGB led's. I thought "maybe its just for extra mounting, probably a coincidence".
Then I had a look at the scroll wheel lighting. This actually has a connector on the mouse mainboard that is also 4pin, however the wheel only uses 2 of them (the center 2).
So, this leads me to believe that razer originally intended to have a couple of mice (orochi, and im also guessing mamba) to have changeable lighting, but decided against it for cost reasons (cheap bstards).
Could someone more electronically skilled have a look and see if the proper IC's are in this mouse to facilitate light change if the right LED's are connected?
