Razer / Microsoft - Habu Mouse Defective?

Hi, i recently bought a razer / microsoft - habu mouse on ebay for my gf. Sadly, the mouse has issues registering clicks. Whilst testing with notepad and the on screen keyboard i found the following: Sometimes it will register correctly, sometimes it will register 2 or three characters, other times it wont regiister at all. I have tested with 3 seperate rigs, with or without the razer drivers. Same deal every time.

The seller has stated that the mouse was working fine prior to sending, and that i may not be configuring the driver software correctly, however he is willing to accept a return on the item.

My question ...is there anything else i can try b4 i give up? ...tbh im a bit gutted as i love the feel / weight of it, and was considering using it myself and giving my deathadder to my gf

It's bad buttons on the mouse. It's pretty well known issue. Defective mouse.

Ahhhh, i thought as much. he did state in one of the post auction msgs:

"if you install that software, off the disk or the site you will find a latency with al the programmable buttons, you have to set them yourself"
