Any body seen one yet? Their site says, available in october.

Or if I don't want to wait...what is microsft's mouse that would be equalivant to the Habu?

There is no equivalent mouse made by Microsoft. This mouse is designed ground up to use Microsoft's standard mouse structure, with a few tweaks. Along with razer's laser engine. This mouse is leaning toward the low sensitivity player, the players that use giant mouse pads. The only thing close to it would be the Razer Copperhead, although it is made for flick players. Which is why they teamed up with Microsoft, "players" wanted a low sensitivity option, with high dpi. I may get one just to test it out. I have a g5, g7, and Copperhead. Right now I prefer the g7, even though it has some problems on my Icemat.

It is, technically. Microsoft is doing the marketing. Razer supplied a modified laser engine, along with some body tweaks.

I bought the copperhead when they first came out, but its getting old and I need something new. Hurry razer!

I had a g5 for about a week, but coming from a copperhead, I could not get used to it. Would be the same with the g7

I have been using Logitech's for awhile now (mx510, g5, and now g7) and am looking for a change (for no good reason though). I was thinking about checking out the Habu or the Copperhead. I saw on the Razer site the same thing mentioned where Habu is for low sensitivity and Copperhead is for flickers.
Couldn't you just decrease the sensitivity/dpi on the Copperhead or increas sensitivity/dpi on the Habu to make them respond the same? Or is it that they don't track properly using them for the opposite of what they were meant for. I am guessing I would be considered a flicker, but the shape of the Habu looks awesome. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I have both, and I'm not convinced that the Habu is for low sensitivity playes, it feels just as fast and accurate as the copperhead, just feels much more comfortable in hand. If you a low sensitivity player you should get and optical or infrared based mouse not a laser anyway... save the cash.

The Habu and Copperhead are the same internally so I can see why it may not be the best for low sensitivity people.

Right now I would not get a Habu because the drivers, firmware, and software suck.
Out of the box you need to use the CD drivers or it won't work. Then you should flash the firmware and it will work with the latest drivers/software. The problem I have with it is the lack of sensitivity options. With my diamondback the sensitivity control was on a scale of 1-10, so it can be adjusted in small intervals. The Habu only has 4 preset DPI settings, 400, 800, 1600, 2000. Thats pretty sucky. Also the display for on screen on the fly sensitivity doesn't work for me. (v2.01 software and v2.01 firmware)

So far I prefer the G5, I like the software and build materials logitech uses much better. I don't like Razer hard plastic, though their mice are light.
