Using this exact mouse right now. Loving it.

These are normally around $70 I think?

Does this Diamondback have a soft-touch shell or hard plastic? Still using my 10-year old Blue Plasma Diamondback. Looks pretty close to brand new after all this time.

The Diamondback 2016 is made from the very same soft plastic shell material Razer introduced with the DeathAdder 2013 (same with DA Chroma/Elite, etc.). Razer also added textured rubber side grips to the DB 2016.

It's made more like their newer mice, which tend to be more durable and lighter. The old stuff had a rubberized coating that wore off after repeated use.

The DB 2016 also uses their latest 5G sensor, which is probably why Razer are asking $89.99 for it.

You're basically buying a DeathAdder Elite, Mamba 2016, etc. in a Diamondback form factor.

Thanks for the info. Will have to pass on it. :(

That soft rubberish stuff always makes my palm sweat.

For me, the rubberized surfaces tend to collect my dead skin far more & often than soft plastic. To be fair, the original Diamondback had a slick plastic body and rubberized buttons and it was nothing but a dead skin magnet. To this day, I believe it was the very act of cleaning my original DB over and over attributed to breaking down the rubberized coating of the buttons.

With the newer stuff, only the rubber sides collects dead skin now. Although, the textured surface of the rubber makes it a pain to clean.

I get your meaning. For me, it's hard plastic or nuthin'. It definitely limits my choices in mice and is one of the main reasons I've taken great care of my old D'back.
