Hi all, I recently bought the razer ac-1 from woot and got it yesterday. I installed in which was a pain but the real problem is that after I got it installed and the drivers apparently working I get no sound. I use the adapter for the speakers. I made sure I plugged it it correctly and firmly in place. I have tried installing it in both 32 and 64 bit versions of vista and I get the same problem. Can anyone help me out?

I disabled the onboard audio too, but I havent tried taking out my other sound card. Do you guys think that taking it out will help?

Update: I just received my other cards, I just plugged one in and it work! So the good thing i got one working bad thing is the first one that came was a DOA.

I believe someone posted in another thread (or perhaps somewhere I else I read) that the analog connections, using the octopus type adapter, does not always connect properly and they used electrical tape to keep the plugs in to the adapter. Perhaps that?

For me the connector on the back was hitting the top of the metal from my case, so the connection wasnt very good. So I had to physically push the card down more, then start to screw in the adapter. Then my audio and mic started working properly. But it sounds like you did that. I havent really had trouble with it, in fact just updated last week to the february drivers. but im using XP so...

Idk how I would use electrical tape.... I pushed it in and around made sure it was in all the way and didnt touch anything still a no go....

Thats weird that I even noticed this thread... But anyways, I just threw my card back in my case with an optical cable for the sound (previously was all analog), and have been trying to get my MIC to work properly with the dongle. I've not been able to successfully screw in the pins for the dongle! I tried several times today :(

If you plugged in the 9pin for the front panel audio, make sure it's AC97 and not Hd-Audio.

I plugged in HD-Audio and got no sound, switched to AC97 and it was fine, I talked to Razer support but they had no idea, I figured it out on my own.

And to fix the odd DVI port alignment, I just adjusted the PCI bracket so it wasn't pushing against the metal of the case then tightened the screw down..

Ok, Well I even removed the plate that touches the case that did no good. I tried the front panel and that didnt work so now I am guessing its the card. I will try on of the other cards when they come to see if its just the card.

Thats good to hear. sucks about the bad card. Are ya gonna try to get a replacement through woot or razer? Im not sure if either is any good. lol
