Keep in mind, this is Canadian pricing, and we tend to get screwed. I prefer to have at least some RGB in this build, opting for a black case with white accents and a teal/pink RGB combination. The only thing I'm not willing to change is the case and I prefer Nvidia/Intel over AMD so keep that in mind. I'm also NOT willing to pay more than this as this build was already $590 over budget.

Swap the ASUS ROG for a Gigabyte AORUS Z390 elite, Asus ROG boards are average in the Z390 range, go up the Gigabyte range if you need more features.

Swap the 9500k for either a 9900k or an 8700k. Windows' scheduler prefers SMT to single thread cores.

Swap the Zotac for a cheaper brand (maybe GALAX?) the performance difference will be negligible

Swap the TridentZ for Ripjaws (they will be cheaper)

Swap the Corsair RM750 for an 850 model as the price difference will be negligible.

Speak to ickywu on the forums here re windows (unless you want them to build it, or even so, just provide them with the key, or have them install windows 10 64 pro without a key and put the key in later) https://hardforum.com/threads/office-2016-2019-win10-keys-more.1954360/

Hmm, I actually ran this quotation through PC Part Picker and the shop is boning me by about 1k. I could understand paying a bit of a premium for the warranty/labor, but not 1k worth.

Not sure why you're not willing to try AMD when it's the same performance for your money or less.

In any case, Zen2 will come out by the end of Wk1 July. 200-250$ USD for 6 cores and 12 threads for about the same single threaded performance of the 9600K (basically an 8700) should at least have you interested.

That, and you'll save money by not needing to buy another heatsink/fan as well.

Also, you should wait maybe a few more weeks for Nvidia's announcement as well. Could be cheaper RTXs, could be faster RTXs, could be both (or unrelated at all).

wait till June 7th and build a new setup yourself with the brand new AMD x570 board and 7nm cpus is what i would do

Do you need a shop to build it for you? If you've never built one before, don't be shy. If you want the warranty and support, you can get both on the individual parts.

I would change the motherboard. VRMs are not the best on ASUS Z390 boards, and that is overpriced for what you get. I would also change the power supply to a higher quality unit with lower wattage, unless you're attached to the color. 750W is overkill for this system, even when you start overclocking. For Windows 10, buy from ickywu on this forum as mentioned earlier.
