Alright, I took my old, just-broken computer and transformed it. Details below

I took my 3 year old computer with these specifications before it broke down:

Processor: AMD Athlon 64 3400+ 2.4GHZ Socket 754
Video Card: nVidia GeForce 6800 128MB AGP
Hard Drive: Western Digital Caviar 160GB 16MB Cache 7200RPM
Memory: 1GB (2x512) Corsair Valueselect DDR400
Motherboard: Chaintech Zenith Value VNF3-250
Power Supply: Thermaltake 420W PSU (Came with Case)
Case: Aspire (Apevia) X-Dreamer Black

And transformed that computer to:

Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Conroe 2.4GHZ @ 3.3GHZ w/Tuniq Tower
Video Card: BFG 7950GT 256MB Stock OC'ed PCI Card
Hard Drive: Western Digital Raptor X 150GB 16MB Cache 10,000 RPM
Memory: 2GB (2x1024) Crucial Ballistix Tracer DDR2 800 RAM
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-965P-DS3 rev 3.3
Power Supply: Ultra XVS 600W PSU
Case: Antec P180

And I transformed it for:

$440 after rebates and selling of my old computer's working parts for $150.

Looks good, might want a beefier PSU if you wanna go 8800 or beyond.
 
The most advanced game I play is CS:S / BF2 :)

I plan on sticking with my 7950GT until the DX10 cards are true and proven, and most importantly, needed.
