Been trying to decide on a new mouse. Down to the RAT9 and M60. Leaning toward the RAT9 as the M60 is about the same size as the MX1100 I'm looking to replace. Anyone with RAT series care to comment on the size/comfort? It's quite a bit smaller than the MX1100 and M60.

^ pahaha, didn't know someone could be so clueless. You realise every pro gamer is sponsored right? They are mostly picked up by Razer 99% of the time, and obviously are paid to use only razer products.. (All of which I personally think are cheap, overpriced garbage)

OP, I love my Rat 7, I swear by it in fact, I should be their PR guy or something, it's orgasmically ergonomic and feels amazing in the hand, one word: Pinky-rest. I can't live without it now, it just feels amazing, and is completely customizable to fit your hand, from every angle. it comes with a box of extra palm rests/ the pinky rest etc. It's without a shadow of a doubt the best mouse I've ever owned and when this one dies I shall be buying another one..

Oh yeah it's won all of these awards too

It must really suck

I've never understood why people care about aesthetics on a mouse considering one's hand covers it a majority of the time and even when it's not, your eyes on the display. The same goes for a keyboard, etc. How often are people really looking at these devices (outside of people that look to type like myself :p)?

it might be ugly.. but how is the handling and material quality?

I have the MMO 7 but it obviously has a different thumb setup and a newer laser. I don't think they have changed anything else in the design or the parts quality though. If that's the case, I don;t know why the build/parts quality would be any worse on the RAT 7/9 mice. IIRC though, the RAT 7 can have tracking issues and the RAT 9 likes to lose its wireless signal and can also have tracking issues.

I've not used/tried either of those mice but, the MMO 7 which is incredibly similar to the RAT 7 is comfortable except for the palm rest that has the most height. It curves in the wrong direction as if it were made for a left hand instead of the right hand as the right side of the arch is higher than the left. Your hand will eventually adapt to it if you use that palm rest but it never feels "natural". I also wish it was about a half an inch to an inch wider though so that I could just rest my hand on it instead of being forced to somewhat "clutch" it (the MMO 7 lacks the thumb side "swing out"). The adjustable length of the mouse via the slider feature on the palm rest should address any concerns in that area barring the need for a "short" mouse. These are minor qualms given the extra buttons and their placement on the MMO 7 but, they may be more at the forefront when using the RAT 7 compared to similar mice without all the extra buttons. After having owned the MMO 7 though, if I were in the need of a more typical mouse I would strongly consider the RAT 7 given that it's construction is similar and I believe it also has the base of the mouse made out of die-cast metal rather than plastic. However, I would also shop around and look at the competitive to see what was the best fit for me.
