You guys have to see this snap-fit case for the Raspberry Pi designed by Marco Alici. If you were one of the people lucky enough to get your hands on one of the first round units, this would be the ultimate accessory. Here's to hoping these things see the light of day. Thanks to everyone (including Marco) that sent this in.

Nice, the only complaint that I have with Raspberry Pi is that the ports go all the way around the board. And there not in any sort of logical order. Even if they had to make the board slightly bigger I wish they, would put the USB ports in the front along with the Sd card. All the video ports HDMI Composite and Audio out the back and Ethernet out the back also. If there was enough room for Usb power on the back great, if not, on the right side. I think that would make the board so much cleaner, but I guess you can't have everything.

There are dozens of case designs for the RPi, and I think some of them are being evaluated to become the official Rpi case.

Every trace and component placement was done to reduce cost. That is why the PI is so damn cheap. Simply moving a connector, increasing the board size etc can drastically impact cost. If I recall correctly they even stacked components in some places.

We know, I just prefer to support our readers efforts versus some random company.

Soon as I manage to get my hands on a Pi I want one of these too!

I think it's funny how all the cables are going to be bigger and heavier than the RPi itself. I'll wait for the wireless and bluetooth version. :D

honestly, it needs a raspberry color :p considering it's for kids to start programming; and adults who just can't say no to neat gadgets.

But seriously, this is a nice mock-up. It'll look good on my Pi once I get it!

I could print one of these at work if I had the model. The cool thing about the ABS plastic printers is you can dye them whatever color you'd like. You just need some RIT dye and a little sandpaper to turn out very finished looking parts.

thats a pretty cool case for these RPi's. My hopes is for a class project get about 30 of these guys and make a beowulf cluster that uses less power than a single pc.

oOOoOO! I might have to find someone with a plastic printer and grab some dye :p I'd like a brightly color box similar to the old SGI Indy's and Onyx systems :)

I've yet to see a Pi case I like. Is okay to make inexpensive plastic cases for inexpensive computers, but there's just no coverage on quality metal cases at this time.

Bah, let me know when there's a 1U rackmount case that holds a slew of these. :p

I could have bought one but i am waiting for it to be imported and resell in us first.

Paying a extra 50 dollars for handing cost and shipping and duty fee doesnt seem right.

For those of you wondering what this is for, like I was...

What’s a Raspberry Pi?

The Raspberry Pi is a credit-card sized computer that plugs into your TV and a keyboard. It’s a capable little PC which can be used for many of the things that your desktop PC does, like spreadsheets, word-processing and games. It also plays high-definition video. We want to see it being used by kids all over the world to learn programming.

You COULD make a slightly larger case and extend the connections to an I/O plate to get them all on the same side if you didn't care about size.
