Raspberry Pi - a $25 PC

I can't even pre-order it. The two main sites only have a "register your interest" and the one place where you can pre-order that i found, doesn't ship to the US!
 
Paper Launch of a Paper Launch. Probably the most disappointing thing I've experienced in awhile tech and toy wise.
 
I am in no rush to get one of these things. It will take time for people to start porting some useful OS's to it so for now I will just wait for the stock to pick up and then grab 4 when I can.
 
Pre orders are up; my expected ship date is Apr 3rd. Will completely replace my VPS as personal web server/irc box (I'll most likely run it headless with it velcro'd to the wall)

Now that i'm thinking about it; I want 2.. One for server usage; and a second to actually play with... I'll probably end up wallpapering my office with them..

These little guys are gunna be a ton a fun.. can't wait to pick a few up. I second the wallpapering idea. lol

I see many potential applications, but I think those looking at this as a replacement for the windows desktop fail to understand the intention. Anyone with an understanding of Linux and what the Pi could allow at its price and form factor is right to be excited though.
 
This would be a nice cheap desktop replacement in a thin client invironment! 35$ is cheap for a test subject at least. Need to find where to buy. Off to google.

Or if anything a command line linux storage server with a few USB Externals connected. Though that may be slow.
