rarely get into windows

when i start up my pc i always get a message that says boot disk error, I keep restarting the machine until it finally works( sometimes 4- 8 times). It all started last week my pc started to freeze as soon as i saw grahics on my monitor.. So i far i have

reinstalled nvidea drivers.
sound card drivers
norton drivers
try to boot without dvd connected
ran hard drive diagnostic

seems to have somehting to do with my start up files since most of the time the pc cant get into windows until several restarts.... please anyone have suggestions? im not a big fan of restore , can i somehow reinstall the windows files without losing everyhing i have already?

Try securing the cables. It happens to me from time to time, but i got new cables and it's all good now.

unplug everything. Blow and/or wipe all connections and reconnect... try again
