I am thinking of getting one of these, I dont wanna spend 350 on the 150, right nowI have a maxtor 6y080p0...



my specs are pent 4 3.0c
bfg 6800gt oc
1gig corsair 400ddr

any of you guys think that hard drive will help with anything?
I just wanna make my computer a little faster and I dont think with my current motherboard there is anything else I can upgrade without starting over altogether..
 
Well what I've found with the raptor drives is they work better when they have company. Like the 74G model remains a speedy drive right up until you put more than 20G's of data on it, it slows down alot.

If you put a 74G with let's say a 150G-300G SATA HD then use that bigger HD to store stuff and use the 74G to run games off of, you're looking at a pretty reliable/quick setup.

Right now I'm using a 200G SATA and a 74G Raptor and it's working great.
 
agreed...If you are buying a raptor this is your OS/Apps/Games drive. You don't want to bog it down with downloads or any other storage crap. Other bigger HD's are for that purpose.
