OK now i have RMA'd my two 74GB Raptor drives, and sitting with two A1 revisions in a Raid 0 64k Stripe.
I also have two A0 revisions from the RMA as well. I have to send the drives back in about 3 weeks, because i did an advance replacement so i have 4 drives on hand. two A0 and two A1. IT makes sense that the A1 revision is newer, so i chose to use the A1's.
Now it still does the same thing. I will get an IRQ LESS OR EQUAL followed by SCSIPORT.SYS the driver causing the problem. i also had a stop error code 0x0000000D7 followed by a few others, i cant remember now, nor am i at the machine. but i can provide them later when i get home from work.
I'm using the latest driver available for the 2 port Talon controller, and also using the 3.09 bios release.
Relevant Specs on my system
500Watt Fortron PS
MSI K7N2 Delta-L motherboard, 5.7 bios release
AMD XP 3200+
1 Gig of Mushkin Low Latency Memory
ATI Radeon x800 Pro
Creative Audigy 2 Value
So now it seems that im having a problem even when i have 2 matching revisions. im guessing the next step is to RMA the controller card which i have contacted the relevant company about since they wanted to RMA the card first, then when they found out i had mismatching revisions they said to match the revisions. now theyre matching and im still getting the same error. so is it possible the hardware is bad? i dont think my memory is bad either because i had 2 sticks of kingston hyper-x before i upograded to the low latency mushkin memory, and all runs 110% when i was on my ide seagate drive, no problems at all there.so im stuck wondering evermore again
