So first I want to say I'm VERY VERY GLAD I used the search button prior to posting :p I see that alot of you don't believe in RAID0 with 2 raptor's doing much good at all, and someone else mentioning stuttering...anyway, here my situation.

My system is an Athlon64 3400+ s754 Newcaste Core w/ an MSI K8N Neo Platinum (NForce3 250GB) with a gig of DDR400 and an Nvidia 6800 Ultra...I originally planned on a 74GB RAID0, but I am now questioning that....

What I'm looking for here is, does anyone have a benchmark for 1 74GB WD Raptor versus 2 in a RAID0? I mean, even if the RAID runs a little bit faster when loading games, I'd do it to have the advantage of loading a second or two faster. But if there's ZERO gain, then screw that....and if there's any kind of stuttering SCREW THAT lol.

Any info on the issue from people that either have read alot on the issue or own the hardware would be greatly appriciated since this is my next and last purchase for my machine....either 1 drive by itself or two on the onboard RAID or a RAID controller. I know this has been asked alot but looking for a little more info after searching the hell out of the forum.

i know theres some benchies for this somewhere, but a gain of a sec or 2 worth 180$? I'd rather buy another stick of ram, that WILL absolutely give you the better bang for ur buck.
 
SOme of the far cry level loading benches i've seen run (read totally non-scientific) have shown, in some instances an increase in load times because of the higher read latency of the raid array.
