Nforce 4 Mobo,
3700+ CPU oc'd to 2.8ghz.
2 gig RAM
Raptor 74 gig
Used the system for over a year, I get the bright idea to install some newer Nforce chipset drivers.
Used the system for a few days and it feels, I don't know, not as "snappy" as what it felt like before the newer driver install, I thought it was probably my imagination, or spyware, etc.
So I check the device mgr., under IDE Controller, Serial ATA controller, Master Drive channel where the Raptor is attached.
Command Cueuing is enabled by default, so I think that's normal, Nvidia wouldn't let the driver set it wrong, correct?
hmmmmm...
I run the Speed Test, WTH!?
9.3 / 8.7 - burst / sustained read speed, yes that IS "nine point three" MPS
gee I wonder why it felt sluggish...
So, I disable Command Cueuing, restart and get 112 / 72 MBS (yes one hundred and twelve)
Just a FYI, even if the drive does/doesn't support it , I'd shut it off
