this might be a stupid question, but not sure so i am going to ask.i just bought a new raptor hdd 74gig and got xp loaded up all my software and i plugged my old maxtor ide drive was going to use it for storge now the computer restarts itself just out of nowhere.it might be an hour it might be a day,so i am not sure.motherboard is asus p4c0800e deluxe, cpu is northwood 3.2 hyperthreading 2 gigs of memory antec 500 watt power supply.ati x800 pro vid card.but i have had this for about six months and never had this happen until the new harddrive my question is can you use both sata and ide at the same time and is there some setting that i am missing?any help is appreciated.no overclocking or nothing like that in the system.

wow, did you take english class? :D :D

Anyways, you may want to check into a new Power Supply..I'd head on over to that section of our forum and ask the guys there for some advice on a new one along with listing your specs

Sounds like that machine isnt getting enough juice, or the unit has gone bad..

frustrated typing will do that sometimes :D also not power supply i have tried 2 different power supply same thing

:) well so far so good,I used a slower cd drive and reinstalled win xp and the fasttrak drivers.ran all night long with no restarts
