Hellooo everybody!

Im setting up my new rig. Im going to be honest, im not very skilled with computers (this is a learning experience) I have an ASUS A8n-Sli Motherboard with a 320GB Seagate Barracude and 74GB Western Digital Raptor. I want to run my OS, games, main stuff on the Raptor. And store things like edited video, music, pictures, on the Barracuda.

How would I go about this?

Format and partition both.

Remember the letter numbers (e.g. C: for the Raptor and D: for the Barracuda)

Install WIndows on your Raptor or C: drive.

When installing games, choose the directory that is on the "C: Drive", or in this case, just leave it to the default directory.

When installing "main stuff", do the same.

When copying pictures, music, and videos, remember to put them on the "D: Drive". (e.g. D:\Music for your music NOT C:\Music)

..and you're done!

How does the D: drive work? Can I go right into it as I would C:? Grab stuff off it and drag it to desktop?

Could I just run everything on the Raptor while I get familiar with the system, then come in later and install the barracuda?

Sorry the questions are a little basic, I appreciate the feedback

plug both drives in
format and install windows to the raptor (drive letters are for wusses)
download tweak xp from MS
navigate to the explorer->special folders tab
set my docs, desktop, favorites, outlook storage, etc to folders on the seagate
profit

Yep, after both are formatted and partitioned you can access either one in Windows.

..and yep, you can just use the Raptor now and then install the Barracuda later. Doesn't matter to windows.

Or you could go with GLSauron's way...I do most of my work in Windows Explorer, lots of people get scared of Windows Explorer. ;)
