Rapid mode any better lately?

With the newer versions of magician software I didn't know if they tweaked rapid mode. Or should I just keep it disabled?

Also my second question. I have a 500gb 850 Evo M2 sata drive. Are these numbers low benchmark wise with rapid disabled on it? Kinda am worried that my drive is hacked causing the read and write speeds to suffer.

Why disable rapid mode?

If your drive is in use, you wont see full performance on benchmarks.
 
Heard from users on here that rapid mode is pretty much snake oil in regards to performance.
 
Well I enabled rapid mode and my random IOPS WITH rapid enabled are well below what they should be. This issue has carried across multiple systems with different ssds. That is why I think my firmware is being hacked. Shouldn't my random writes IOPS be well above 78k with rapid enabled? Unless some firmware hack is capturing what I am writing to the drive? Something definitely is not right here.

If the same thing happens on multiple systems with multiple SSDs, it cannot be anything to do with a single drives firmware being hacked.
Why do you keep saying that.
Do you think someone breaks into your PC and hacks your SSDs firmware?


What system are you using it in?
Are you using the latest Intel RST driver?
Is the SSD firmware up to date?
Is AHCI enabled in the BIOS?

Does it give better results if you boot from another drive?
 
Latest RST, firmware is up to date and AHCI is enabled. What I meant was each ssd I use (all samsung) have had the same crippled writes. I am thinking each samsung ssd I've used has had it's firmware hacked. Something is crippling my write speeds. On multiple samsung ssds. I don't have another ssd to test with. I only have my 850 evo.
 
Your write speeds are fine.
iops are not write speed.
You wont notice the iops deficiency unless you make extreme use of the SSD.

Your use of the word hacked has no meaning.
